ive been trying to play more serious re: bankroll management. im having a decent run right now. i deposited 30 saturday and im up to 500+. gonna try to resist the 100+9 6man s&g's and keep building.

if you don't mind saying - post your bankroll and what you built it off of.

deposit - 30
bankroll -500
games - NLHM super turbo heads up at 10% bankroll buy-in and 6 man s&g at same stakes. some MTT's but to little avail.

Well im in the process of turning 375 into O....1 or 2 days left.

Ran my numbers for the year over the weekend.
In cash games im up $300 for the year.....im no good at math but i came up with .003 cents per hand.
Did a lil better in tournys , guesstimating the total hours spent playing i avg for the entire year right at .4 cents an hour.
For the 3rd year in a row ill go into the new year seriously thinking about quitting...obviously the results are not there and after 5 years+ its time to admit the obvious.....

well needless to say this will be my last deposit ever on online poker.

i've been losing 2 days straight on Ak v a7 and other 30% outers. i lost every coinflip im at a disadvantage (ie - a2 v kq).

in the last 2 MTT i played i got dealt AK twice in a row, took people out with top pairs and then would flop something ridiculous like trips or a flush and get drastically cooled. after this money is gone so am i.

ive been racking up some serious FTP though.

Online poker is bullshit whoever is behind preflop always wins no matter what and its hard to drop aa or kk when everyone wants to go all-in every hand.

Up 55k playing .25/.5(6max) and .5/.1(6max) for the year.

prove it.
sites, name on site, and if you want, screenshot of account (blackout any personal info, even blackout the account balance) - but it proves you are logged into the name you give us, instead of just finding the name of an online player who has won.

not trying to be a downer, but i played .50/1.00 years back with more fish, and 5K a month would be a sick take - so if its true, i'd like to see

Started in 2007 with $1K bankroll and another $500 on books and online poker school memberships.

I played 300K hands in 2009, 6-8 tabling 100NL and 200NL 6 Max. Bankroll is at $24K right now. I never gamble with more than 2% of my bankroll (poker, horses, sportsbetting). Follow this rule and you will never jeopardize your bankroll.

bankroll management is key!

it is unreal - sure some people don't care if they are just having fun (deposit every now and then, play some tournies, etc..)

but when you see people with only 500 dollars, playing 1-2 NL, this is idiotic if you are actually trying to make money long term.

example:
in college i had 2000 online, and was playing 2-4 NL and 10-20 limit (way above my bankroll)
I made about 40K in 2 years - but this is when people were HORRIBLE at poker.

If you want any chance to make money longterm, you need bankroll management, that is the only way

you hear people bitching about bad beats, but if it only cost you 2% of your bankroll it shouldnt matter and you should win in the longrun if you are a solid player

most of the people you see bitching on here are more angry that they had 100 bucks in their account and lost a 50 dollar pot, or because they deposited 50 bucks, played 2 tournaments and lost on a bad beat

BR management is extremely important. Yet a lot harder than it seems. I know from experience. But if you can do it, it's the first real step.

how often do you withdraw? do you have yourself on a salary?

I try to keep a total of $5K online ($3K at the site I play the most and $1K each at two other sites). Don't like keeping too much online in case someone hacks into my poker accounts. I had two $2K downswings in the past but that was from playing bad and running bad at the same time. I have never had to re-deposit.

I usually withdraw once a month, which varies between $1K to $3K. I keep it in a separate bank account. I try not to spend it but have used it to buy stuff like 24" Monitors, HDTV in the past. My plan is to just build my bankroll for sportsbetting.

I have a fulltime job in the computer field so that covers my living expenses.

And they're the same ones to say that online poker is rigged. It's not. I have 500K hand histories in my database. I have AA the same number of times as I have had KK. I've been in set over set situations with top set and bottom set equal number of times. These situations are coolers, they even out in the long run.
